Cricket betting: a short, honest primer
Let us be straightforward: cricket is not a big sport in Estonia, and most readers of this site will never bet on it. The page exists because sportsbooks often list cricket prominently, and a market you do not understand is a market to leave alone. Three formats, three different bets
- Test matches last up to five days and can end in a draw. That third outcome changes the match odds completely.
- One-day matches give each side a fixed number of overs; a result is usual, but weather can interrupt.
- T20 is the shortest format, a few hours long, and the most common on betting menus.

Weather and rain rules
Rain can shorten or abandon cricket matches, and there are special methods for recalculating targets in shortened limited-overs games. Sportsbooks have specific rules for how bets settle when play is reduced or abandoned. If you do bet, read those rules first; on a phone they are usually under the sport's "rules" or "help" link.
Long matches, long sessions
A Test match can keep a live market open for days. That is a lot of opportunities to "just check the odds". If you follow cricket as a fan, it may be healthier to watch without betting. If you do bet, set a fixed stake and a time limit in the account profile; see responsible gambling.
Reading a cricket market on a small screen
Cricket markets often come with long names — innings, overs, batting side — that are truncated on a phone. Before confirming, open the market's full description and make sure you know which innings and which team it refers to. If the slip shows a shortened label you cannot interpret, that alone is a good reason not to place the bet.
