Wagering: why the game you pick matters as much as the offer

A wagering requirement (also called playthrough or rollover) is the amount you must bet before bonus money — and sometimes the deposit attached to it — can be withdrawn. It is usually written as a multiplier: "30× the bonus". Most explanations stop there. This page looks at the part that decides how long wagering really takes: which games count, how much, and how that ties to the studios in the lobby. We do not state Kanuuna's multipliers; read them in the offer's terms.

Contribution rates

Terms normally assign each game type a contribution: the share of each bet that counts towards the requirement. A typical pattern — not Kanuuna's, which you must read in the terms — looks like this:

Where studios come in

Exclusion lists are often written by title, and sometimes by studio. Games with high published return-to-player figures are common candidates. An illustrative calculation

Example only: €30 bonus, 35× wagering = €1,050 of bets. On a game counting 100 %, that is €1,050 of play. On a game counting 20 %, it is €5,250. Same offer, five times the play, because of the game.

Following progress on a phone

The profile's bonus tab usually shows a progress bar or the remaining amount. Check it between sessions rather than mid-game. If the bar does not move while you play, you are probably on a game that does not count.

The max-stake trap

Bonus terms usually cap the stake per spin or round while wagering is active. On a touch screen the stake selector is a small plus button — and a few accidental taps can take you over the cap. Breaking it can void the bonus and its winnings. Set the stake before the first spin and leave it alone.
