Cashback: what it is and what it is not

Cashback returns a share of your net losses over a period — a day, a week — as cash or bonus money. It is one of the easier promotions to understand, and one of the easier ones to misuse as a reason to keep playing. This is a short explainer; we do not confirm whether Kanuuna currently offers cashback or at what rate. If it does, the terms and the credited amounts will be visible in your account.

How it is usually calculated

Most cashback schemes look at net losses: deposits minus withdrawals and remaining balance over the period, or bets minus wins on eligible games. Bonus money and some game types are often excluded from the calculation. The result is then multiplied by the cashback rate and credited, sometimes automatically, sometimes after you claim it.

Example only: with net losses of €80 over a week and a 10 % rate, cashback would be €8. If it is paid as bonus money with wagering, it comes with conditions like any other bonus.

What to read in the terms

Cash or bonus? Cash cashback is withdrawable; bonus cashback carries wagering.
Which games count? Some schemes count only slots, or exclude certain studios or live games.
Claim window. Some offers must be claimed in the profile within a set time.
Minimum loss. Small losses may not qualify at all.

Where to find it on a phone

Cashback usually appears in the profile menu under bonuses or promotions, sometimes with a "claim" button that only shows during the claim window. If it is credited as bonus money, the bonus tab shows the wagering progress.

Cashback and the studios you play

Because cashback schemes often count only some game types, the lobby's provider filter is useful here too. If the terms exclude live tables or a particular studio, losses on those games may not be counted at all. Open the info panel of the games you play most, note their studio, and compare with the scheme's eligible list before assuming a loss will be partly returned. A quick check of the profile's transaction history at the end of the period also shows whether the credited amount matches what you expected.

The honest caveat

Cashback softens losses; it does not reverse them. Playing more "because some of it comes back" is the opposite of what the offer can do for you.
